This week's prompt is movement. I feel like there is no better representation of light and movement than flames. I attended a bonfire event this weekend and was transfixed with the way the flames were in constant motion. The way the light flickered and changed not only with the movement of the flames but with the direction of the wind and which sides of the fire pit people were standing on as well. I especially found the way the glow of the embers shifted and changed to be entrancing.
I find it interesting that all of our natural occurring sources of light are in constant shift -- the sun, moon, and stars traveling across the sky, the way flames are never stagnant, the reflection of light off of the surface of a pond or river-- we did not evolve alongside static light.
Nice post and wonderful comments on movement. I love watching fire with all of it's color and movement, and the sensory feel of it.
