Unfortunately i was not able to visit spectrum in the night time/dark, However i have found the good and not so good about lighting at the spectrum in the Day time…. But none the less here are my observations!
First picture is overall environment- Now there are no active lights on in this photo, but i wanted to hone in on the shadows being created on top of this store. It reminds me of when we make sure the lights are angled correctly in class, the bottom of the planters and palm tree has shadows creeping up it. I also noticed there are lighting fixtures, situated by the door of the store as well as on top of the palm tree and at the other entrance of the door. I can imagine at night time this nicely guides, clients, and shoppers, hopefully to their store and assist in illuminating the way to shop! I also really enjoyed the details of architecture in this building. These swirls make little hearts at the top and trim the building nicely.
One store that is successful in lighting- American Eagle, has overhead lighting placed at product marketing and product items has a nice glow in the store towards the back wall there’s red/pink Hughes drawn you towards the center as well as a large display of pictures and videos of the clothing shoots and content. The theme of the store feels very personable, the lighting invites you in and draws you towards the center of the store, making you walk-through and look at the products and items on sale. I do find interesting the Hughes at the center of the store. I almost want them at the entrance of the store as well to invite people in, but I do understand that they have a specific brand they’re going for even seeing as their sale signs around as Black Friday is nearing, The light and brightness of youth and fashion translates well here.
One store unsuccessful in lighting is anthropology- I was so underwhelmed by the lighting because I know it is an expensive store so I assumed they would have expensive fixtures and architectural design that assists in accentuating the products and product marketing, However, it it’s just dimly lit throughout and my eyes aren’t necessarily drawn to anything and it doesn’t invite me in. The theme here is quiet luxury, even though the prices are not quiet a lot of the clothing I could get somewhere else for cheaper so it’s a brand that people know and love, But the design of it does not make me want to shop nor invite me in. I didn’t go into the dressing room of the store, but I’m intrigued to see how the lighting in the dressing room is situated compared to the shopping floor.

Good comments on the 2 stores. I agree with your assessment of the stores. I cannot really count the outdoor photo given the assignment but still appreciated your comments. See Canvas for more comments and grading.
